Telehealth Tech - doctor on appointment

Tech issues shouldn’t derail your day

We’re here to make sure they don’t.

At Telehealth Tech, we act as your behind-the-scenes support team — preparing your examinees for medico-legal Telehealth consultations, so your appointments start on time and run smoothly.

We can support your practice by:

  • Running full tech tests with each examinee prior to your appointments
  • Troubleshooting video, audio, and browser issues
  • Coordinating and hosting 3-way calls when interpreters are required
  • Facilitating consent forms and collection if required
  • Offering real-time support at the time of consultation if anything goes wrong
  • Potentially flagging in advance appointments which are unlikely to proceed or may need to be rescheduled

You focus on the assessment — we handle the rest.

Every minute matters. Every examinee deserves support.

When a Telehealth call doesn’t connect properly, it’s more than an inconvenience. It can lead to missed or rescheduled appointments, wasted preparation time, lost revenue, and importantly, can increase examinee anxiety.

Our aim is to provide a smooth pre-assessment process for your examinees, with full support and guidance, so they are fully prepared and in control.

For medical experts, our goal is to eliminate tech-related cancellations and maximise your appointment calendar, helping you effectively and efficiently manage your practice.

We work with:

  • Medico-legal experts
  • Health professionals seeking simplicity
  • Vulnerable examinees who need extra patience and guidance

With full support prior to, and at the time of the appointment, we prepare every examinee to connect with you successfully so you’ll be ready to start – on time, every time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the greatest benefits Telehealth Tech health professionals enjoy?

There are many benefits which doctors report back to us. The key benefits are:

  • Optimising appointments

Tech troubleshooting is not something that many specialists can or want to deal with. Consultation time is valuable and doctors just want to get straight to the assessment or otherwise face the risk of running out of time and needing to cancel or reschedule the appointment. We handle this pain point for you prior and even during your Telehealth assessment if required.

  • Time saving and appointment calendar optimisation

Being notified in advance if examinees are not able to make their scheduled appointment – often days in advance – allowing the time slot to either be reopened for another booking or give doctors time back in their busy schedules. This can also save doctors time in pre-reading reports prior to the assessments.

  • Live support

Being able to call Telehealth Tech if the examinee hasn’t joined the appointment, allowing us to quickly assist in getting the examinee on the line and save the appointment.

  • Hosted interpreter calls

Juggling multiple people on Telehealth calls can be challenging. We can host up to 6 people on a Telehealth call and remain in the background to jump in and help if one party drops off the call.

  • The ability to provide appointments nationwide

Some doctors are happy to conduct just a few Telehealth assessments a month, while others allocate all available slots to Telehealth appointments. Opening the appointment calendar to Telehealth assessments allows medical experts anywhere in Australia the freedom to offer their service nationwide and not be limited to their local geographical area.

Our medical experts primarily use Coviu and Doxy.Me as they are encrypted platforms ensuring patient confidentiality, however we can assist with any other platforms if required.

We recommend 3 – 5 days notice. This provides us time to notify the examinee of their upcoming appointment and organise a time to perform a quick test call and troubleshoot if required. Shorter notification periods are possible however, the shorter the notice, the less time we have to successfully contact and test your examinee.

We support one-off consults or ongoing specialist partnerships. There is no contract required when joining Telehealth Tech so you can use our services as much or as little as you wish.

Interpreter fees are generally covered by insurers or medicolegal firms. Telehealth Tech can host 3-way interpreter calls between you, an interpreter and the examinee for a small additional cost.

Yes we can. If you are unsure of which platform to use, we are happy to guide you on the various options and help you get set-up with your own account. We do also recommend having at least two options available in case you or your patient encounters problems at the consultation time.

For more information, please call us.

If your patient hasn’t joined the scheduled appointment within the first few minutes of the assessment, call our support team on 1300 556 337. We will contact the patient immediately on your behalf and assist to keep your appointment on track and avoid cancellation or rescheduling.

We are proud to say our success rate is over 95%!

For those assessments that don’t proceed, the vast majority are due to factors outside of our control, such as late cancellations and non-attendance.

For some examinees we may also determine during our pre-appointment testing that a Telehealth assessment will not be possible. In these situations we then notify the Case Manager who – because we have identified the issue early enough – now has time to make appropriate appointment adjustments.

Telehealth Tech currently supports a range of over 40 medico legal experts nation-wide, including Occupational Physicians, Orthopaedic Surgeons, Pain Management specialists, and many more.

The largest cohort of specialists we represent are psychiatrists who see great benefit from conducting assessments where the examinee may be less anxious attending the appointment from the comfort of their own home rather than travelling to medical suites. Some psychiatrists believe this may benefit the quality of the assessment.
